With plenty of sailing clubs focusing primarily on competition and racing, here at Abbey Sailing Club we have evolved into a club with broader apeal for a diverse set of water sports.  

Whilst sailing is still at the heart of what we do, including beginner friendly races twice a week, in recent years we have welcomed kayakers, canoeists, paddleboarders and  swimmers.  All of which are welcomed into our family friendly club.  The social side of the club is very active through the Spring, Summer and Autumn months, with the club house and riverbank popular with activities on and off the water.

Families often bring picnics down to enjoy by the river, children play games on the lawn, with social sailing popular during the summer evenings and weekends.

Our club is run by its members, for its members.  A key ethos in the club is that everyone pitches in, and everyone is welcome.  We keep our membership fees as low as possbile, to help ensure the widest range of community has the opportunity to join us, should they wish.

We are perhaps Abingdon's best kept secret!
